Team Fortress 2 (TF2) Soldier Update

Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is one of my favorite games to play; I’ve clocked seriously like 100+ hours playing this game.  Valve is great about releasing updates to keep the game fresh with new game modes (recently King of the Hill mode) and charachter updates (Spy and Sniper).   It’s time for the Soldier to get an update!  He’s a great guy and he deserves it.  Is Valve planning on releasing this character update next?  Who is the next in line?

Since Valve began releasing updates to Team Fortress 2, each new release sparks web rumors as to what the next release will be like, what character will get new weapons and what else is coming next. 

Here’s one of the first rumors to circulate involving a “TF2 Soldier Update” and let me tell you why, although a lot of work was put into this, it’s not that convincing:

• The post is so old
• The supposedly leaked update image is amateur photoshopping work at best
• Some of the achievements sound pretty legit, but others don’t at all

Another rumor circulated via n4g.com states that Valve accidentally posted on the Official TF2 Blog details that “The Total Gaming Network reported today that the soldier class update had been apparently posted on the official TF2 blog in error; the post was quickly removed from the official page.”  

Followed by: “some major overhauls will come to the mechanics to the game and implement the item trading system.”

Now, the second statement has been confirmed by Valve that the game will implement an item trading system and mechanics have changed.  As for the first statement about the Soldier Character update, I’ve seen no evidence of this officially from Valve as of yet.

My ideas for the Soldier update:

Grenades, grenades, grenades.  Honestly, think about it… he’s already got them strapped to his belt AND he juggles them.
