Forget about using @font-face thanks to Google
Web designers beware that if you’re eager to use @font-face in the near future you can forget it! With Google now entering the web-font market the guys over at font-face.com decided it was a lost cause to continue on their noble quest. Personally, I would be rather upset if I had invested 100s of hour of labor just to be overtaken by a giant. Hopefully Google will kick them over some pity capital.
Apple iPad: No Flash Plugin Support
Apple’s largely hyped iPad will not support the Flash plugin on it’s built-in Safari browser. This means there will be no free Flash games, videos or music on the Apple iPad. Flash Fluid Website Template Tutorial and Download
I’ve been getting a lot of email lately from people asking about how I included buttons in the code for the fluid layout tutorial found here at Active Tut’s. I decided to just offer up my code in a package for those who want to modify it to suit their needs. Why? Because after much deliberation, I’m moving away from the all-Flash site for a blog/flash mix site (the one you’re on now). Let me know what you think and please come back to show me the sites you make!
Easy Flash CS4 Alpha Gradient Mask Logo Tutorial
Gradient masks are useful for creating cool effects on logos and other flash objects. In this tutorial I will demonstrate a common way to outline or make text ‘shimmer’ in Flash CS4. Please note: I do use Photoshop CS4 to create the outline, but you can do this in Flash just as easy with the ink bottle tool.
